So why is Mark Ronson’s Here Comes The Fuzz on this best 1,000 albums ever thing?
Some albums on this here best 1,000 albums ever project connect to some Some albums on this here best 1,000 albums ever project connect to deeply personal memories of specific times and places in my life, as is certainly the case with Here Comes the Fuzz – are simply jam-packed collections of great songs.
This one is also super fun end to end, featuring a truly top notch cast of guest stars that Ronson pairs with throughout the album, ranging from hip-hop (Ghostface Killah and Mos Def, for example) to rock (Rivers Cuomo of Weezer fame, most notably).
“On the Run,” which takes one of Lenny Kravitz’s very best (off of Mama Said) and turns it into a hard funk, uptempo hip-hop smasher, is one of my most favorite party songs produced in this century. It features Mos Def and M.O.P., and makes me wish the super talented (both in music and acting) Mos Def would produce more hip-hop in this vein.
“Ooh Wee,” featuring Ghostface Killah, Nate Dogg, Trife, and Saigon is very nearly as good as “On the Run,” and pairs magically with that one for a party playlist.
Matt Collar of All Music describes “I Suck,” featuring Rivers Cuomo, as “punk a go go,’ which is fun, though I might term it something more like psychedelic lounge rock. In any event, it’s good!
And “International Affair,” featuring Sean Paul and Tweet, brings in a lively reggae-dancehall flavor.

What does the “best 1,000 albums ever” mean and why are you doing this?
Yeah, I know it’s audacious, a little crazy (okay, maybe a lot cray cray), bordering on criminal nerdery.
But here’s what it’s NOT: a definitive list of the Greatest Albums of All-Time. This is 100% my own personal super biased, incredibly subjective review of what my top 1,000 albums are, ranked in painstaking order over the course of doing research for nearly a year, Rob from High Fidelity style.
