A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is a new show on Netflix. What’s it about?
Part YA mystery, part “cold case” crime story, and part “true crime”-style whodunit, A Good Girls Guide to Murder comes to Netflix, based on the best-selling novel by Holly Jackson.
From the official Netflix press release:
Five years ago, schoolgirl Andie Bell was murdered by her boyfriend Sal Singh. Case closed. The police know he did it. Everyone in town knows he did it. But smart and single minded Pip Fitz-Amobi isn’t so sure and she’s determined to prove it. And if Sal Singh isn’t a murderer and the real killer is still out there, how far will they go to keep Pip from the truth?
“My name’s Pip Fitz-Ambobi, and for the last few months, and for the last few months I’ve been investigating the Andie Bell case,” Pip tells us as the trailer opens. “A million discrepancies about that night. Any one of them could have killed Andie.”
A title card then tells us: “They got the wrong person.”
If this mix of elements appeals to you, I imagine that the setting – a sleepy English town in which its teenagers are going through many of the same challenges as kids everywhere – will be part of the draw as well.
The cast of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder includes Emma Myers (who also played Enid Sinclair in the popular Wednesday) as Pippa Fitz-Amobi, Asha Banks as Cara Ward, Raiko Gohara as Zach Chen, Zain Iqbal as Ravi Singh, Jude Morgan-Collie as Connor Reynolds, Yali Topol Margalith as Lauren Gibson, Yasmin Al-Khudhairi as Naomi Ward, and Carla Woodcock as Becca Bell.
