Sally Malik rocks this year’s “Poltergeist-chic” collection.
Oh wow, really? We only have three more episodes left in the season? Really?
Being Human likes to show off its ability to meander through a storyline. This means I can’t find my way around a season without looking at the episode list on Wikipedia. This is in direct contrast to my other precious, Supernatural, where the time period in a season can be immediately discerned by how depressed everyone is. My liver almost didn’t make it through the end of season 5.
So, Sally’s psychotic break took center stage on Monday night and it was awesome, complete with demonic voice Sally and creepy eyes Sally and my god, the writers should really just let Meaghan Rath lose her mind more often. It’s way more fun than mopey emo kid Sally.
One question though – why must every single episode conveniently take place during a full moon? Are the writers worried that we’ll forget that Josh is a werewolf?
Aidan’s blood withdrawal started to kick in and Josh was already a grumpy puppy when they tracked down Zoe the Ghost Whisperer for help. They conveniently left out the part about Sally shredding her boyfriend. Is that the technical term now? I feel like we should come up with something better. “Shredding” makes me think of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which ultimately detracts from the seriousness of the (lol) shredding.
I’m sorry. I just need a moment. Shredding.
Of course, as soon as Zoe started whispering away, Sally the Psychotic Ghost (think of her like Casper’s creepy cousin) locked everyone in the House of Horrors. Awesome. Aidan and Josh almost got out of ordering take-out. Aidan decided to nosh on Zoe for an appetizer before Josh convinced him to suck his blood if he was so desperate for sustenance. Aidan’s attempts to talk himself into drinking Josh’s yucky werewolf blood might be my new favorite scene from season 2.
That ended badly.
I wonder how stoked Meaghan Rath was that she got to wear pretty things and eyeliner this week? I love yoga pants as much as the next lazy chick and due to a bout of recent unemployment, spent a lot of time in my comfy cozy yoga pants, but I’m starting to reach the point where I need to paint myself up like a hooker for the sake of my sanity. Yes, I am that woman who wanders around Sephora just to longingly touch the things I can’t afford.
Sally’s dreamscape was pretty swanky though. I loved the color scheme, the washed out scenery with the purple wardrobe. It was unsettling and the calm, cool tones contrasted nicely with the chaos in Sally’s reality.
However, I’m not entirely sold on Sally’s continued Reaper action. Zoe explained Sally’s predicament to Josh and Aidan by theorizing that Sally thought that she upset the balance of nature by passing up her door, and thought it so much that she literally created something to within herself to compensate for it.
That makes sense, but it still gives me a headache. At least the Syfy version of Being Human hasn’t gone the “let’s give our ghost a bartending gig up the block complete with quirky human bar friends” idea that the original UK series thought was a good idea. (It wasn’t.) Please do not be following that example, Syfy. I beg of you.
