The Dynasty: The New England Patriots spotlights a football dynasty

The Dynasty - New England Patriots

The Dynasty: The New England Patriots is a new docuseries on Apple TV+. What’s it about?

If you’re even a little bit of a football fan, you know about the New England Patriot’s incredible success during the 21st Century, spearheaded by the legendary coach and quarterback tandem of Bill Belichick and Tom Brady, with owner Robert Kraft in the mix as well.

Beyond insight into this historic sports story, The Dynasty: The New England Patriots would do well to dig into the many controversies that plagued the Pats during this run as well, ranging from DeflateGate to stolen signals to Aaron Hernandez’s sad and disturbing story to Kraft’s… eh, indiscretions.

(And as a lifelong New York Giants fan, I’d be remiss to not mention that my Giants beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl. Twice. So there’s that, too.)

The Dynasty: The New England Patriots: why should I watch?

If you’re a sports fan or interested in bolstering your knowledge of one of the most important sports and sports business stories of our lifetimes, this one might be well worth checking out.

Additionally, with Tom Brady poised to continue to be one of the biggest media stars out there (see: his appearance during the Super Bowl commercials alone) and Belichik plotting his post-Patriots life, this is also a good time to take stock of What It All Means in terms of the Patriots unusual long term success.

The Dynasty: The New England Patriots: who’s in it?

Beyond Brady, Belichic, and Kraft, a host of Patriots figures will appear in The Dynasty, including Drew Bledsoe, Tedy Bruschi, Ty Law, and Adam Vinatieri. Legendary Boston comedian and actor Bill Burr also shows up, as does Tom Brady’s dad, Tom Brady, Sr.

The Dynasty: The New England Patriots: when and where is it on?

The Dynasty: The New England Patriots series premiere was released on Apple TV+ at 12:01 a.m. The first season is scheduled to include ten episodes.

The Dynasty: The New England Patriots: 10 most worst moments

Since I’m a Giants fan, I thought it might be fun to dig up “The New England Patriots’ 10 Worst Moments in Franchise History.”

Number two(!) is “Super Bowl XLII: New York Giants Over New England Patriots 17-14.”

The New England Patriots squandered a chance to make history by going 19-0 and having an undefeated season by losing Super Bowl XLII.

Granted, it took an absolute miracle drive and a miracle play by nobody wide receiver David Tyree to make it happen. But happen it did.

This is not only the most depressed I have been after a Patriots loss, but also, I am still not over it—and I never will be. I wrote a couple of articles about it after the game, and then a year later. My feelings are still the same.

This was the game that I was running around my tiny house in southern California like a crazy person during the final stretches of the game. After the Giants won (the first of two times that they beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl, did I mention that yet?) and I had finished appropriately celebrating like a complete madman, I only then noticed how badly I had scared my cat.

Sorry, Winston.
