Larry returns to recruit Michael for a life-changing job.
I’m no spy and I’ve never been arrested but it must be pretty embarrassing to have your mom pick you up from jail after you’ve been released. On the bright side, however, Michael (Jeffrey Donovan) is no longer under suspicion for killing Max (Grant Show). Now all he has to do is figure out why he was framed.
I figured it was about time someone like Larry (Tim Matheson) showed up. Micheal can’t get out a jam without landing in the middle of another one and random adventures like this one are part of what makes Burn Notice so fun.
Showing up at Anson’s (Jere Burns) house to see that his wife was already dead was pretty brutal and unexpected but it makes sense seeing how the only way Michael can get out of his predicament is if he doesn’t have to worry about the hostage. It also makes it easier for Anson to help the team stop Larry.
As usual, Fi (Gabrielle Anwar) was able to find a solution to their problems through extreme violence, unfortunately, it seems that someone planted a bomb that was meant to cover his tracks and take out Michael in the process. So, to sum up, Fiona killed two innocent civilians and Michael got burned because he let Larry do the same. It turns out there is a dark side to the spy game.
I didn’t see the Anson twist coming at all and I’m excited about the upcoming season. Jere Burns is always fun to watch and the fact that he has so much intel on Michael and his father means that we’ll get a lot of nuggets about Michael’s past. It’s clear that the future of Burn Notice is going to make fans like me very happy.
