Michael and the team help Barry and his brother out of a tight spot and Michael is framed for Max’s murder.
I am crazy about Grant Show. When he left Melrose Place, I felt certain that he would be on another hit show soon afterward. Unfortunately that plan never came to fruition, which is why I am always pleased when he shows up on Burn Notice. He is a great choice to play Michael’s (Jeffrey Donovan) new handler. He’s old enough to play experienced and young and handsome enough to work in the field. He’s basically a cross between Michael and Sam (Bruce Campbell). Clearly, he was too good to last.
I agree with Max about Michael looking paranoid. If I didn’t know better, I would think his concerns over the “inconsistencies” were just his way of refusing to let go. However, we all know that Michael Westin is always one step ahead of everybody else. So it’s now merely a waiting game to find out who is really behind him getting burned and why the Company wants Michael to put it all behind him.
It appears Big Show is still willing to play the big bad ass. Personally, I would like to see him appear on every show on USA Network, as long as he gets hit in the package every time.
It’s about time we saw another evil lady on this show. Eve (Aviva Farber) could end up being a regular nemesis for Michael and the gang. Burn Notice could really use their own Wo Fat at this late date.
Another high point in this episode was Michael’s persona du job. I prefer it when he plays dumb. It gives the mark a false sense of security and makes me laugh at the same time.
Very smart writing making Paul (John Ross Bowie) Barry’s (Paul Tei) brother. It allows them to work together and fight with each other at the same time. I think that’s called the Simon & Simon equation.
Just like in last week’s episode, I love it when something goes wrong and the team has to improvise. I feel that’s what sets this show apart from the other shows on USA. These spies are the best in Miami and having to make a last minute plan is one of the things they do best.
Despite killing off my favorite new character, I loved this episode. The Burkowski brothers are a perfect example of why this show works. The relationships that Burn Notice has spent four seasons setting up totally make sense and therefore make me care that much more about every single character, even Maddie.
