Walden and Alan spend the evening with a lesbian couple.
When Two and a Half Men premiered this season, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed Ashton Kutcher and the new version. However, as the season went on, I was horrified to see how reliant on penis jokes and bikini-clad women the show had gotten. This episode, sadly, was no different.
The constant scenes with a nude AK are really wearing thin. He has a big crank, we get it. I fail to see why guys like us are such a source of amusement (see what I did there?). Seriously, though, put on some pants. In light of all the cheating, it just seems creepy.
I forgot how funny Jane Lynch was on this show. Her performances on Glee are so over the top it was like seeing an old friend watching her subtle line deliveries here. If she were a regular character, I would watch every week just to see her.
One of the things I don’t get about Walden is that he behaves like a child but he makes really clever, adult comments. How can he be clever enough to call Bridget’s (Judy Greer) date, “Conan the Humanitarian,” and still insist on behaving like a five-year old? I’m not saying he’s another Calvin Trillin but he’s certainly wittier than Jake (Angus T. Jones), who has no problem acting is age.
The stuff with the lesbians was certainly cute despite the ridiculous Rachel Maddow costume. If anything, it showed how funny and versatile Judy Greer is. I am a big fan of hers and wish she had more to do on the show than just complain about Walden.
This new version of Two and a Half Men seems determined to be the same old show it was before while ignoring their new and improved talent. I’m afraid I’m going to have to take it out of my lineup.
