So, this is now the fourth episode in a row of Love & WWE: Bianca & Montez that both Bianca & Montez sit on their (lovely) couch and tell us about how challenging, “wild,” and tiring their lifestyle is.
Which reminds me that there’s an old saying when it comes to writing and storytelling: show, don’t tell.
Maybe I’m just saying that the producers of this reality television program should look into it.
It’s 53 days until The Big Event, which of course is WrestleMania, and the action centers around preparation for the Elimination Chamber matches. Oh, and also, their house – which I don’t think we’ve ever been the location of – is filled with gnats.
“We basically live in Jurassic Park,” Bianca says.
Montez tries out different outfits on Bianca for his upcoming Elimination Chamber match in a wacky montage, and she encourages him to show people who he is as an individual. This is another reality show moment where I take a step back and have to imagine that “in real life” (such as it is with pro wrestling performers) either the WWE tells its performers what to wear and what persona/personality to take on, or does so in close collaboration with its performers/employees.
But… I’ll try to set that aside to enjoy the Love & WWE experience.
In short, Bianca eventually agrees to work on Montez’s “gear” because she thinks she’ll do a good job. Some stress ensues in getting everything ready in time, but all is well in the end. We also learn that Bianca has a “wig hat.”
On the women’s side of the wrestling slate, the (pre-detmin… shhh!) winner of the Elimination Chamber – which looks to be something akin to what was called the “steel cage match” back in the day in the WWF – will face off against Bianca Belair at WrestleMania. Again, the highlights of the action shown looks quite exciting, but it’s literally 10-15 seconds total and gives very little flavor of the actual match. In any event, Asuka is the victor, so we now know who Bianca will face at the all important WrestleMania.
