Teresa and Ashley: leave the vinegar at home — you need to use honey sometimes to get people on your side.
This week the Real Housewives of New Jersey had the battle of the drama queens on display. Teresa and Ashley were independently competing as to which one of them could get the most attention for no other apparent reason than their own issues.
Kathy threw an inner goddess party for all of the ladies where she cooked Middle Eastern food. All of them seemingly arrived around the same with Teresa of course arriving last. The best name for Teresa during this party would be the green monster. While all of the other ladies are enjoying themselves she looks like she doesn’t want to be there. Apparently she thought that the inner goddess party would have naked men dishing out food to them. Seriously? It doesn’t end there though. When Kathy goes around giving compliments to each of the ladies she tells Melissa that she’s a good mom. Of course Teresa can’t handle this so she must interject by saying that they are all good moms. She’s always so concerned about coming off as a good mom. Her constant need to over-compensate only proves that she does have some insecurity about her parenting skills. Furthermore, her over-zealous complex prevents other people from enjoying a special moment for themselves.
When Kathy tells Teresa that she admires her ability to always have a smile on her face regardless of what’s going on in her personal life, of course she thinks this is some sort of jab against her. Is she really this clueless? The absolute best of the worst of her behavior came when Caroline was talking to Kathy about Kathy’s previous plans to open a restaurant. Not to be outdone Teresa said that her and Joe are planning on opening a restaurant where she will be a hostess wearing beautiful gowns and will teach the chefs how to make her recipes. Is she that starved for attention? That sounds like the dreams of a five-year old. I wonder if she watches these episodes and realizes the idiotic things she says? If I were her I would cringe and be extremely embarrassed. I’m sometimes embarrassed that I watch this craziness. I will say though that Teresa did deliver one of the best lines of the show. When they are taking about the weather and how cold it is, Teresa said that the following day they were supposed to be getting a Norwegian, as opposed to a nor’easter. Isn’t she a true Jersey girl? I am pretty sure she’s heard nor’easter enough times in her life to not make that mistake.
As for Ashley, we picked up this week exactly where we left off last week. She continues to be a spoiled brat who feels like everyone owes her something. I don’t get what this girl’s problem is. Her parents seem to do everything for her but it’s still not enough. She even tries to get Caroline’s daughter Lauren on her side, but, she was supposed to design a t-shirt for Lauren for an upcoming party so she doesn’t have much sympathy for her. There’s really no excuse for why she hasn’t done it. Lauren attempts to set her straight but it’s like talking to a wall. I don’t get where Ashley’s poor me demeanor comes from. She feels like her parents should fund her every whim and desire, the new one being her moving to California. She ends up calling her mom a bitch – I don’t know of any households where that is acceptable. I think Ashley needs to learn a fundamental principle – you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. Ultimately, Jacqueline and Chris throw her out. It was long overdue!
Next week the drama between Teresa, her husband and brother continue.
