This edition of The Millionaire Matchmaker kicks off with an update: Seth Grabel, the magician dude who appeared as a client on the episode also featuring Marty Yacoobian (“The Magnificent Seven Meets Party Marty”), is now engaged to someone named Tammy after dating for eight months.

Patti Stanger deems him “a changed man,” but what I find the most interesting thing is that we’re meant to understand that the couple met with zero input or help from Patti. So is this a spotlight on a success story for The Millionaire’s Club or… Or what is the question, I suppose.
The Millionaire Matchmaker, Justin Cooper & Chad Towersey: client intros
Patti takes this season’s new underling assistants – David, Marissa, and Justin – out to lunch at 41 Ocean in Santa Monica, where we quickly get into the client intros. Chad Towsersey, 34, is an advertising executive from Newport Beach, California. David describes him as “a good-looking guy” who can “be kind of a douche to women.”
Ladies, sign right on up for some Chad, I suppose?
When we meet Chad via video intro segment, he says, “I’m not a player, but I’m a guy at the end of the day. Did I have a one-night stand last weekend? Yeah.”
He then smirks and adds, “If a girl wants to give it up on the first date, that’s her fault.”
Once again, I’ll repeat: ladies, sign right on up for some Chad… but be forewarned.
In conclusion, Professor Towersey says: “I just like to have fun and bone a lot.”
“No sex without monogamy,” Patti says to the monitor. “You’re in the wrong house.”
Chad’s turn-offs when it comes to women include:
- A unibrow
- Hairy face
- A girl that just won’t shut up (“it’s like, stick a piece of gum in your mouth and chew that,” Chad notes)
“He’s a D-I-C-K,” Patti says.
Oh, but Chad also says: “I’m in the right place in my life and open to love” in a “quality relationship.”
Meanwhile, we have Justin Cooper, 32, who also works in advertising. However, Justin couldn’t be more different than Professor Chad as he seems grounded and, you know, not a D-I-C-K.
Justin talks about how losing his sight in one eye to glaucoma changed his perspective, and that he wants to find someone to share his life with. And preferably, “a hot Jewish girl.”
The Millionaire Matchmaker, Justin Cooper & Chad Towersey: Patti meets the clients
Chad stops by The Millionaire’s Club office, and Patti immediately says, “I saw the DVD, and you were basically a dick on it. What do you have to say for that?”
“I guess I’m a disgusting man whore,” Chad replies in an astute self-assessment. He then quickly assures Patti that he’s “ready for love.”
Patti tells Chad that he needs to be more “flexible” and be truly open to having a “co-star” for the movie that is his life.
Patti then meets Justin at a restaurant called Killer Shrimp. Justin tells the camera that he’s a mix between “Ari Gold and Don Draper” which… okay, we’ll Justin hold onto that notion. We can all but dream.
Interestingly, we also learn that Justin’s celebrity crush is “Sloan from Entourage” so it seems our guy is a massive fan of the HBO comedy.
We also get a read on why Justin is still single as he alludes to how he has been pretty controlling with girlfriends in the past. This is why Patti has dubbed him as The Fixer.
The Millionaire Matchmaker, Justin Cooper & Chad Towersey: the recruiting session and mixer
The recruiting session was pretty boring this time around, so the only highlight I’ll share is that one woman is told by Patti, “You can make your stomach look like an alien,” and then she’s encouraged to do so. Good times.
Onward to the ‘60s inspired Mad Men-esque Madison Avenue martini mixer, which is so themed because the two clients work in advertising.
During the mixer, Chad tells the camera, “I’m almost getting a boner hard on because there are so many hot chicks in the room.”
I assure you that that’s a direct quote, and I can also assure you that Chad might be the single most quotable client to ever appear on The Millionaire Matchmaker (and that’s saying something.
After Chad talks all about himself with the ladies for a bit, he’s cut off by underling staffer Marissa with a “conversation card” to help him, you know, conversate.
When Chad is pulled aside again by Justin and told to give the ladies compliments, Chad weirdly starts to glitch out and sweat at the same time, reminding me of when Marco Rubio melted down in a presidential primary debate back in 2016. He just got confirmed to be the Secretary of State of the United States, but let’s seriously try not to focus on that right now, shall we?
There’s no mini-date round for reasons that aren’t explained, so for the full-blown master date, Chad selects Frances, 27, a start-up worker from England who enjoys the beach, and Becca, a Jewish marketing analyst from San Diego (with a Sloan-esque look), is the pick for Justin.
The Millionaire Matchmaker, Justin Cooper & Chad Towersey: Justin and Becca’s first date
Justin has Becca meet him at a place called Vodbox, “where you can try the most exclusive vodkas in the world.” The couple puts on Russian-looking winter coats and hats and enter a refrigerated room to sample from 93 vodkas from all over the world.
A tipsy Becca later tells the camera that Justin is “cool and nice” and someone she can have fun with.
Dinner is at a place called Opaque, which is one of those “dinner in the dark” concept restaurants. Which is to say, everything is literally pitch black and the couple can see nothing. This gives Justin a chance to tell Becca about his vision issue.
We can see the couple stumbling around to eat via something like night vision style, which is pretty odd. It works out well date-wise though as Justin is able to slide his chair around in the dark and shares a sweet first kiss with his date.
The Millionaire Matchmaker, Justin Cooper & Chad Towersey: Chad and Frances’ first date
Justin mysteriously has Frances meet him in a warehouse teeming with crates, but deep in the back there turns out to be an MMA gym where “two of the world’s top fighters” train. The date involves the two of them getting a jujitsu lesson, which Chad is already very experienced with – while Frances knows nothing about.
Frances is a good sport about it, and Chad says, “There’s nothing more sexy than a girl that kicks ass.
A hillside lunch is next in Newport Beach with an acoustic guitarist playing Hawaiian-style songs in the background for the couple. Chad chills his dicky (Patti’s word) game down considerably, and Frances seems to genuinely enjoy spending time with him.
“You’re almost like the perfect girl,” Chad ends up blurting at one point. “I’m pleasantly surprised,” Frances says soon later.
The date ends with dancing, and a kiss.
The Millionaire Matchmaker, Justin Cooper & Chad Towersey: post-dates upshot
Frances gets the first call from Justin and Patti, who terms the date “magical,” and says that she really likes him. In the office, Patti gushes about how proud he is of the good professor.
Next, Marissa and Patti call Becca. She too really enjoyed her date and wants to go out with Justin again, prompting Patti and Marissa to give each other a high five. Justin then stops in, and tells Patti that he’s now curbing his “fixing” ways.
“Another perfect week,” Patti says.
Fact check: that is so not true, but let’s let her have a moment, I guess.
The end of episode captions then tell us: “Chad and Frances have gone out several times since Patti set them up. Chad’s transformation from bad bot to good catch seems to be working.” And: “The fixer seems to be fixed. Becca has already visited Justin in Chicago. They have just returned from a trip to Barcelona.”
